§ Mr. PatchettTo ask the Secretary of State for Transport (1) if he will list(a) the number of reports he has received from the railways inspectorate, (b) the 1104W number recommending prosecutions, (c) the number of prosecutions taken up and the outcome for each of the past 10 years.
(2) if he will list (a) the number of deaths on British Rail premises each year in the last 10 years and (b) the number of prosecutions for such deaths and the outcome of the prosecutions.
§ Mr. Portillo[pursuant to his reply, 29 June c. 522–23]: The figures given in table A were for accidental deaths on all railways. The numbers for BR cannot generally be isolated without a lot of research, although it has been possible to do so for the years since the reecords were computerized.
