An index was included in an analysis of urban deprivation in all English authorities, based on the 1981 census, which was published as "Census Information Note No. 2: Urban Deprivation" in February 1983. It is available in the Library.
On the basis of that index which is available at district level, the rankings (out of 366 English local authorities) for the districts requested were:
