§ Mr. Kenneth BakerThe Government have decided to make available a transitional grant totalling £100 million in 1990–91 to assist the inner London boroughs and the City as they take on responsibility for education. We plan that the grant will be phased out over a five-year period. The precise profile of the grant and the method of distributing it will be announced in the autumn.
