HL Deb 19 July 1989 vol 510 cc901-2WA
Lord Fanshawe of Richmond

asked Her Majesty's Government:

In view of the Answers given to earlier Questions on 5th April (Official Report, col. 1186) and 28th June (Official Report, col. 833), why litter has still not been cleared from the central reservation of the A.4 between Hammersmith flyover and the Chiswick elevated section; when Lord Fanshawe will receive the promised letter from the Secretary of State for the Environment; what the local authorities involved have done with the additional funds allocated for the purpose of clearing this area; and whether the Government will ensure that the area is cleared forthwith.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of Transport (Lord Brabazon of Tara)

The two London Boroughs concerned have been asked to report on this matter. My right honourable friend the Secretary of State for Transport will write to the noble Lord as soon as their reports have been received.
