HC Deb 11 July 1989 vol 156 c482W
Mr. Gareth Wardell

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if the closure of the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority Harwell laboratory incinerator has posed any disposal problems for slightly radioactive organic solvents used in scintillation counting.

Mrs. Virginia Bottomley

The closure of the Harwell incinerator has not posed any disposal problems. Slightly radioactive solvents are now disposed of in other incinerators authorised under the Radioactive Substances Act 1960.
