To ask the Secretary of Health (1) if he will make a statement on the future of geriatric services at Sefton general hospital, Liverpool;

(2) if he will make a statement on the future of Olive Mount hospital, Liverpool.

The planning and development of hospital services in Liverpool is a matter for the Liverpool health authority. The hon. Member may therefore wish to contact the district chairman for the information he requires.

To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he will make a statement on the provision of beds in the intensive care unit at Liverpool royal hospital.

Mr. Freeman

The Mersey regional health authority and Liverpool health authority are presently giving consideration to relocating and expanding the intensive care unit within the Royal Liverpool hospital.
