§ Mr. LilleyThe household sector saving ratio has fallen in recent years. However, this has been largely offset by 359W rises in saving by companies and the public sector, leaving total national savings broadly unchanged as a share of gross domestic product. Rises in interest rates in recent months will encourage more saving and less borrowing by households.
