To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he will publish comparable figures on(a) the United Kingdom's heart transplant programme and (b) that in other countries in the European Community.

For details of the United Kingdom heart transplant programme I refer my hon. Friend to the statement made by my right hon. and learned Friend the Secretary of State for Health on 14 December 1988 at column 602. I regret that we do not collect statistics on heart transplantation in other countries in the European Community.
