§ Mr. Teddy TaylorTo ask the Secretary of State for Health how many cases of cancer affecting children were 117W reported in the most recent year for which figures are available; and what was the comparable figure 30 years previously.
§ Mr. FreemanNational registrations of newly diagnosed cases of cancer are not available over a period of 30 years. However, the table shows the number of registrations, and the registration rate per 100,000 population for persons aged under 15 years of age for 1962,1974 and 1984 (the latest year available) for England and Wales. The statistics should be interpreted with care as the ascertainment of cases has improved over the whole of this period.
