Local bus mileage in Great Britain (outside London) rose by 14 per cent. between 1985–86 and 1987–88.

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what change there has been in the number of bus operators since deregulation.

By 1 May 1988 there had been a net increase of 465 operators running local bus services since deregulation.
