To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food when he expects the field trials on bovine somatotropin, being conducted by two pharmaceutical companies, to cease; and if he will make a statement.

This is primarily a matter for the pharmaceutical companies involved who are responsible for generating the data needed to support applications for product licences.
