To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many oral parliamentary questions he has answered by written reply because the question was not reached at Question Time, for the most recent year for which figures are available.

Of the 590 oral parliamentary questions answered by Home Office Ministers in 1988, 465 received written replies because they had not been reached at Question Time.
