§ Mr. Michael ForsythSince the scheme opened at the beginning of October 1988, a total of 130 farmers in Scotland have applied for grants under the farm woodland scheme relating to a total planting area in excess of 1,300 hectares; twenty applications have so far been approved and it is expected that the vast majority of the remaining 110 applications will be dealt with in time for planting to be undertaken in the current planting year. Information on the amount and nature of planting undertaken is not yet available.
