§ Mr. Donald ThompsonReflecting our serious concern on whaling issues, I have recently authorised the United Kingdom commissioner to propose a resolution to the International Whaling Commission dealing with the current whaling operating being undertaken by Japan for scientific research studies. If adopted, the resolution will354W formally call upon Japan to cease her research plans until the major concerns identified by the International Whaling Commission scientific committee have been addressed and resolved.
