§ Mr. RyderMy right hon. Friend the Member for Norfolk, South (Mr. MacGregor) last met the chairman of the council on 8 November to discuss the council's report on consumers and the common agricultural policy. I also met the council on 7 December when we discussed a wide range of topics. I firmly believe that close liaison between my Department and consumer groups is essential and I, my ministerial colleagues and officials, have regular contact with the council on matters of mutual interest and concern.
