Mr. Beggs

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what was the extent of monthly backlog of cases over each of the last three years in the Land Registry Office in Northern Ireland.

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will publish an indicative list of charges made by the Land Registry in Northern Ireland.

The information requested is contained in the Land Registry (Fees) Order (Northern Ireland) 1988 (SR 1988 No. 410), a copy of which is available in the Library.

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he has any proposals to speed up Land Registry transactions in Northern Ireland.

Mr. Needham

A comprehensive efficiency review of the Land Registry functions in Northern Ireland is to be undertaken. It is anticipated that the review will be under way by mid-1989.
