To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what information he has as to how long the Nature Conservancy Council has been negotiating with D. Harvey, of Ninham Farm, Shanklin.

I am advised by the Nature Conservancy Council that its negotiations with Mr. Harvey over a variety of proposed uses of the land commenced in March 1986.
