Mr. Trippier

[holding answer 3 February 1989] : Information provided by those local authorities in the north-west region which have so far made returns to the Department show that the average of tenders accepted for the building of new two-storey two-bedroom houses, including all works but excluding professional fees and land, was £17,546 in the financial year 1987–88 and £20,816 in the first half of the financial year 1988–89.

Comparable information for housing associations is not available.
