§ The Attorney-GeneralIt is for the chief constable of the Nottinghamshire constabulary to determine whether there454W should be a disciplinary or criminal investigation. If there is a criminal investigation the provisions of part IX of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 will determine whether a report should be submitted to the Director of Public Prosecutions. The question of prosecution cannot arise unless and until such a report is submitted.
