HC Deb 20 December 1989 vol 164 c225W
Mr. Allen

To ask the Lord President of the Council what representations he has received seeking the closure of Annie's Bar and its replacement by a shop for the use of hon. Members and staff of the House; and if he will make a statement.

Sir Geoffrey Howe

No suggestion of this kind has been received. It is, however, proposed that a small general shop and a souvenir kiosk will be established in phase I of the new parliamentary buildings. Both will be run by the Refreshment Department and are expected to be open for business in the late spring of 1991.
