§ Mr. AllenTo ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will list those sections of police disciplinary codes that relate to the use of racially offensive expressions by police officers.
§ Mr. Peter LloydSection 9 of the police discipline code, which is set out at schedule 1 of the Police (Discipline) Regulations 1985, is the only section which specifically relates to the offence of racially discriminatory behaviour.
Such behaviour may, however, fall within other sections of the code, such as abuse of authority (section 8), disobedience to orders (section 3) and discreditable conduct (section 1).
