To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry whether he will enlarge the terms of his inquiry into cross-promotion of group interests by media groups by adding to the first terms of reference "and to knock, denigrate or undermine the media services or products of competitors".

The terms of reference do not require enlargement. The terms of reference make it clear that promotion by media companies includes, among other things, unfavourable reporting or editorial comment about…their competitors' media services and products".
