HC Deb 19 December 1989 vol 164 cc193-4W
Mr. Frank Cook

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he has made an assessment of the benefits and drawbacks of the net safety benefit analysis development by the Civil Aviation Authority.

Mr. McLoughlin

The net safety benefit analysis was a study by a group of four civil aviation safety authorities: the US Federal Aviation Administration, Transport Canada, DGAC France and the Civil Aviation Authority. The CAA published the results of the study as CAA paper 87017.

I know of no reason to doubt the validity of the conclusions of the study.
