To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, pursuant to his reply of 30 November,Official Report, column 357, what amounts of money have been paid to (a) British Aerospace and (b) Hunting Engineering in connection with the study of possible procurement options for the replacement of the WE177 free-fall nuclear bomb.

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, pursuant to his reply of 30 November,Official Report, column 357, what is the nature of the arrangements that have been concluded with the United States Government enabling an exchange of information on the subject of the study of possible replacement options for the WE177 nuclear bomb.

The arrangements are in the form of a memorandum of understanding concerning co-operation on a tactical air-to-surface missile feasibility study.
