To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will list the European Community countries with which the United Kingdom has a manufacturing trade deficit.

Mr. Redwood

In the first nine months of 1989 the United Kingdom had a manufacturing trade deficit with the following countriesFrance, Belgium-Luxembourg, Netherlands, Federal Republic of Germany, Italy, Denmark and Portugal.
