HC Deb 04 December 1989 vol 163 c101W
Mr. Barry Field

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport which competent harbour authorities are charging vessels under the command of a master with a pilotage exemption certificate; and if he will list the highest and lowest charges.

Mr. McLoughlin

The Department does not have this information. The Pilotage Act 1987 however provides for objections to be made to the Secretary of State by, amongst others, port users against the levels of charges levied by competent harbour authorities for the issue or use of pilotage exemption certificates.
