To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will make a statement on(a) the costs and (b) the reduction in safe ground attendance capacity, of introducing his plan of seating only at all first division clubs.

Mr. Hurd

As I said in my statement on Monday 17 April, the Government will be discussing with the football authorities the implications of moving towards all seated stadia for the major football clubs.
