§ Mr. Peter WalkerThe number of permanent staff working in my Department in 1979, 1985 and each subsequent year and their occupational categories are set out in the following table. Direct comparisons between individual occupational categories after 1986 are however not possible since in following years they were affected by changes arising from the introduction of unified grading and the expansion of the open structure.
