Mr. John Patten

By strengthening the police, and by fostering the safer cities programme in some urban high crime areas, we hope to increase the safety of all citizens. Simple precautions that members of the public can take to reduce the risk of attack are given in the Home Office crime prevention handbook "Practical Ways to Crack Crime."
