To ask the Secretary of State for Transport when he expects to receive and publish the report on the British Transport police from Her Majesty's inspectorate of constabulary.

Mr. Portillo

The report on the inspection by Her Majesty's inspectorate of constabulary will be made to the British Transport police committee which is responsible for the administration of the force. I understand that HMIC expects to report to the committee later this spring.
