To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on the conduct and outcome of the recent election in El Salvador.

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he is satisfied that the last presidential election in El Salvador was held under free and fair conditions.

Mr. Eggar

Her Majesty's Government's official observer, Dr. David Browning, attended the presidential elections in El Salvador. He is currently preparing his report, a copy of which will be deposited in the Library in due course.

We have regular discussions with the United States on a wide range of topics, including El Salvador.
