§ Mrs. ChalkerWe have checked with the European Commission, which is not aware of any such grant. Provision for measures in preparation for Namibian independence was written into the Community's 1989 budget, but no money has yet been allocated to that budget line.
European Community assistance to Namibia to date has consisted of support for non-governmental organisations, food aid and assistance to Namibian refugees.
