[holding answers 4 April 1989]: Total Treasury expenditure in 1988 was some £6.0 million (including some £5.6 million by the Central Computer and Telecommunications Agency). Figures given include the cost of development studies, which in turn included the cost of associated hardware and software; the latter items are not separately identifiable.
The following management or computer consultancy contracts were awarded by Her Majesty's Treasury in 1988. With the exception of the first 15, all were placed by the Central Computer and Telecommunications Agency.
