To ask the Secretary of State for Employment what level of weekly premiums will be paid to(a) under 25-year-olds, (b) a childless married person and (c) other trainees after income support levels are uprated in April 1989.

Mr. Nicholls

The weekly rates of training premium at the time of the benefit uprating will be:

  1. (a) £11.95 for single people aged under 25 and in receipt of the standard rate of income support;
  2. (b) £11.25 for couples without children and in receipt of the standard rate of income support;
  3. (c)£10 for all others.
