To ask the Secretary of State for Employment what has been the annual operating surplus of the Skills Training Agency since it was established.

The Skills Training Agency has operated on a trading account basis since 1984–85. No financial results are available prior to that year. Operating surplus/deficits from 1984–85 are as follows:
