Mozambique and Zimbabwe

Mr. David Davis

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what subjects were discussed at the recent meeting between the Prime Minister and the President of Mozambique and the Prime Minister of Zimbabwe.

Mrs. Chalker

The Prime Minister had a trilateral meeting with Presidents Mugabe and Chissano followed by a bilateral meeting with President Chissano at Nyanga in Zimbabwe on 29 March. They discussed the internal situation in Mozambique, and British aid and military assistance to the region.
