Mr. Paice

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment what were the total numbers of(a) adult employees receiving vocational training, (b) young persons 18 years and under receiving vocational training and (c) all persons of employment age receiving vocational training in each year since 1970 or in those years for which figures are available.

Mr. Cope

Estimates from labour force surveys of persons receiving job-related training, are shown in the table. The labour force survey did not include questions on training which can be used to produce comparable estimates prior to 1984.
