HC Deb 04 April 1989 vol 150 c101W
Mr. John Marshall

To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster whether, in the light of the absence of a breakdown of United Kingdom petrol sales by company type, he will refer the industry to the Monopolies and Mergers Commission.

Mr. Maude

The Director General of Fair Trading referred the wholesale supply of petrol in the United Kingdom to the Monopolies and Mergers Commission on 9 November 1988. The commission was given 12 months in which to report.
