Whether they have considered a report by Construction Industry Research and Information Associates on the subject of rising groundwater under London; and whether they are requiring Thames Water to examine the possibility of extracting water from beneath London instead of from streams in Wiltshire, Berkshire and elsewhere.
§ Lord HeskethThe final report of the study of the engineering implications of rising groundwater levels in the deep aquifer beneath London, carried out by the Construction Industry Research and Information Asociation is not yet available. When it is, the Government will examine its findings carefully.
