§ Mr. ButcherThe figures are not readily available in the form requested. The table gives information for England. That for Wales is the responsibility of my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Wales. As figures for the Basildon area are not available centrally, those for the Essex local education authority have been given instead.
Information for 1987–88 is not available. Schools in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are the concern of my right hon. Friends the Secretaries of State for Scotland, for Wales and for Northern Ireland respectively.
