§ Mr. PortilloLondon Underground Ltd. (LUL) appointed a safety auditor in December 1987; King's Cross is one of the stations that have since been audited. The auditor is responsible for ensuring that the necessary follow-up action is taken.
In addition, the Department of Transport's railway inspectorate has visited King's Cross since the fire. I understand that the London fire brigade has also visited King's Cross on a number of occasions.
LUL has agreed safety standards for the building and reinstatement work now in progress at King's Cross with the railway inspectorate and, I understand, the London fire brigade. The completed work will be inspected by the railway inspectorate.
