HC Deb 19 October 1988 vol 138 c953W
Mr. John D. Taylor

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland why the Union flag was not flown on the Southern health and social services board premises at The Mall, Armagh, on Sunday 21 August; and what new arrangements are being made to ensure that the Union flag is flown on these premises on all appropriate dates.

Mr. Ian Stewart

The requirement to fly the Union flag on those prescribed days relevant to Northern Ireland applies to central Government offices only. There is no requirement therefore for the Southern health and social services board to comply.
