To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment whether RIMNET monitoring stations are manned 24 hours per day.

Forty-two of the 46 radiation monitors currently installed in the national radiation incident monitoring network (RIMNET) are at permanently manned meteorological stations. Periodic readings are taken at the other four sites.
