To ask the Secretary of State for Health which sections of laundry within the National Health Service are(a) exempt and (b) not exempt from inventory control.

Health authorities are responsible for providing efficient and cost-effective laundry services. Procedures for inventory control are determined locally but health authorities must report discrepancies if the total in one financial year is in excess of £5,000.
