§ Mr. MellorWhilst details of regional health authorities' plans for 1989–90 will not be available to the Department until early next year, recent discussions with regions about their intentions for that year showed that, even before the Chancellor's Autumn Statement, all had identified significant areas for proposed service improvement. These include continued increases in numbers of patients treated in the acute sector and substantial projects to develop and improve community care.
