To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether he will publish the latest available figures for staying on in full-time education at the age of 16 years.

Provisional figures on the percentage of 16-year-olds in full-time education at maintained schools and further education establishments in England for the academic year 1987–88 were as follows:
