§ Mr. ShersbyTo ask the Secretary of State for Transport what information he has concerning proposals 467W by London Regional Transport to improve the service and introduce new rolling stock on the Central line to West Ruislip.
§ Mr. PortilloOn 11 October 1988 my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State announced the approval of London Regional Transport's plans to modernise the Central Line at the cost of over £700 million. As part of that modernisation, 85 new trains will be introduced, the first of which are expected to run in passenger service between West Ruislip and Northolt by the end of 1991.
