To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what steps Her Majesty's Government have taken to ensure that the funding of the Kagiso Trust by the European Community conforms fully with the spirit and letter of article 935 of the European Community's special programme which expressly prohibits support for political organisations.

Member states are consulted by the European Commission before decisions are taken on the allocation of funds from line 953 of the EC budget for the EC's special programme of assistance for victims of apartheid. The programme is being implemented in accordance with the established criteria.
