HC Deb 10 November 1988 vol 140 cc301-2W
Mr. Devlin

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what plans he has to move officials of his Department into the regions.

Mr. Sainsbury

As I told the House during the recent debate on the Defence Estimates, the successful transfer of 1,400 jobs to Glasgow under the 1979 dispersal programme is almost complete. We are now examining a range of further relocation possibilities which should significantly reduce the amount of work that must remain in London.
