To ask the Minister for the Civil Service when the Government intends to reply to the report of the Treasury and Civil Service Committee's inquiry into the Next Steps initiative for improving Civil Service management.

The Government have today laid before the House a Command paper (Cm. 524) giving their response. Copies of the paper, "Civil Service Management Reform: The Next Steps", are available from the Vote Office.
